After a career in the Army and VA, the kid from the 80's (Gary) dusts off his guitar and joins two kids from the 90's (Dave and Jason). Guitarist and singer Gary Munson and bassist Dave Burlingame jammed and played music together in various bands in the clubs of Minneapolis and St. Paul in the past. They hooked up with drummer Jason Junge in 2022 and Ausgang City was born. They are an energetic Power Rock Trio. Catchy guitar and bass riffs with driving drums. Straight forward rock and roll with influences from the 80’s (The Cult, REM, Husker Du), the 90’s (Nirvana, Sugar, Buffalo Tom, Jimmy Eat World), and the Indie, Alternative, Punk bands of today.  They released their debut EP, Ausgang City, in May, 2023. The songs Buffalo Con and Drive take you on a sunny day, windows down, top down, road trip dreaming of playing rock and roll. Broken Heart hits you with a bit of angst and no frills or effects on that overdrive sound. Around the World quiets down the music and explores what it was like for Gary living in and visiting other countries and states before settling down the roots again in Minnesota. Song of Defeated is that moment in life when you think everything is falling apart and you’re standing alone on a hill overlooking a beautiful field ready to take that step again. The music itself in the song reflects these feelings with a slow walk up the hill at the beginning, the breaks before getting to the top, and the full band at full blast staring into the horizon. The end guitar riff is the first step down the hill to live once again. You can jam, feel the overdrive in your chest, walk along with the lyrics, and feel the music and emotion in your bones. Ausgang City is ready to rock.
